About Salisbury

The first people to inhabit the area around Salisbury, Massachusetts were the Pennacook tribe of Native Americans. They lived in the Merrimack Valley area and use the river for transportation. In summer, they camped at the wetlands and used the area as their fishing and hunting grounds.
