Downloading the app

The app is completely free. Once you have it on your device, you’ll be able to be able to access your FlipKey account anytime.

To download the app on your Android phone, search for FlipKey in Google Play.

To download the app on your iPhone or iPod Touch, search for FlipKey in the App Store.

 

Using FlipKey’s mobile app

Below are the major features that you have access to when using the mobile app:

  • Get notifications for new inquiries, messages, and booking requests
  • Respond immediately to interested travelers
  • Send payment requests and track payments
  • Check the status of your reservations
  • Update your rates and calendar

There are two tabs that you’ll use to navigate your FlipKey account:

  • Reservations: This section allows you to easily respond to travelers, view messaging and payment history, and create new payment requests.
  • My Listings: Each of your properties will display on the My Listings section. Select a property to update your availability calendar and rental rates and to view property details and your owner profile.

 

Reading and responding to inquiries

To read new messages from travelers, go to the Reservations section and touch the inquiry to read the contents of the message. To respond to the traveler, touch the blue arrow. A text box will open where you can write a reply. Once you’ve completed your message, touch the Send button in the upper right-hand corner of your screen.

All message history between you and the interested traveler will be visible for reference below the most recent message. Simply tap the plus sign to view past emails.  

 

Creating a payment request

To create a payment request, go to the Reservations section and find the message thread from the traveler who would like to book your property. Tap on the message to view the details, and then tap Create Quote. Create the payment request by entering the rental details and total cost. Once you complete the invoice, tap Send Quote.

 

Setting your notification preferences

We’ll alert you with a notification for any traveler activity that you’ve received to your FlipKey account. A notification can include a new inquiry, booking request, or message from a traveler or a recently paid reservation.

If you have push notifications turned off on your iPhone or iPod Touch, you will not receive notifications or alerts about new traveler messages or payments on FlipKey. You can easily adjust your notifications on your device settings.

For Android users, your settings will display by clicking the menu button and then Settings on your device.

All U.S and Canadian citizens can also sign up for SMS alerts to notify you when you’ve received an inquiry or a payment. Learn more about setting up text message alerts.

 

Searching for a specific message or reservation

Although you cannot search for a specific message or guest, you can use the filters to narrow down your results. Tap on Filter to sort the reservations results by AllPayments, or Messages Only.

For iOS users, once you set the filter, tap Filter again or tap outside the filter box to view the results. If you have more than one property, you can also filter by each property.

For Android users, once you set the filter, tap the back arrow to view the results. If you have more than one property, you can also filter by each property.

 

Updating your calendar

To update your property’s availability calendar, tap on My Listings and choose the property that you’d like to update. Tap Availability to view your calendar. You’ll be able to mark a single night or multiple night stay; check-in and check-out days will display as half days. The blue arrows at the top of the screen allow you to switch the month. Find the month you’d like to mark and tap the blue Edit button on the top. Tap each date to change its availability, and tap Save when you are finished.

 

Updating your rates

To update your property’s rates, tap on My Listings and choose the property that you’d like to update. Tap Rates to view your property’s rental rates. The standard rates will display at the top and any detailed rates will be visible when you use the blue plus sign to expand your rate information. Select the rates you’d like to edit and tap on the text box to make any necessary changes. You can edit rate name, minimum night stay, date range, per night, per weekend night, weekly, and monthly rates. Tap the Save button in the upper right-hand side of the screen.

 

Viewing your property details

Each of your properties will display on the My Listings section. If you have more than one home, select the property that you would like to view. Tap in the Details tab to read the description, check the suitability and amenities, and view the map. At this time, you can only view the property details on the mobile app. To edit these details, you must sign in to your FlipKey account on a desktop or laptop computer in order to change your property details.

 

Can’t find something on the mobile app?

At launch, FlipKey designed the app to provide owners with the crucial features to help them run their business. As such, the following features are not currently available within the app, but our mobile app team is working hard to explore how they might be included in the future:

  • Adding a special offer
  • Syncing an external calendar
  • Canceling a payment request
  • Signing up or adding properties
  • Deactivating your account

Generally, if you can’t find something on the mobile app, sign in to your FlipKey account on your laptop or desktop.

 

Having trouble signing in?

To make sure that you’re typing the correct password to your iPhone or iPod Touch, you can view your unique password on the screen when signing in to your account by clicking on Show when you are typing your sign-in information.
