To rearrange photos

Use the drop down box to the right of each image to designate the correct sequential order. Each image will already have a number next to it, which represents the order in which that image will display on FlipKey and TripAdvisor.

When changing the order of the photos, the changes you make will result in a swap of the images, instead of pushing the photos down in a sequential order. For example, if you move photo #2 to make it first image, the current #1 photo will now be listed as photo #2.

To change your primary property image that displays in search results on the site, simply add a new photo or re-order the  existing photos  in your account.

To add photo captions

A text box with a 100 character limit titled ‘Caption’ is shown to the right of each image. Simply add captions to each of your photos.

To add a YouTube video

You can easily edit or add a YouTube video in the 'photos' tab, accessed by the 'edit listing' button on your dashboard. Once on the photos tab, scroll down to the bottom of the page and find ‘Add Property Video.’ Simply paste your unique YouTube video URL into the blank box and click ‘Submit.’

Since YouTube is very strict about the exact URL used to access a video, be sure to remove all extra variables after the '&' in your unique URL and always use the youtube.com address to ensure quality.

Only YouTube videos can be embedded on FlipKey at this time. We do not accept any other video formats.

FlipKey Quick Tip.pngQuick Tip! Make sure to save all the changes you made to your photos.

Guest submitted photos

Travelers can upload photos of your rental onto your FlipKey property listing page within the review form.  This is a great way to share pictures of your home with future travelers and potential guests!

Where do guest submitted photos display on FlipKey and TripAdvisor?

All traveler submitted images will be posted with your guests' feedback under the review section on your property details page on FlipKey.  Depending on your photo preference, each traveler added image will also be displaying as part of your property's photo slideshow. You can automatically hide all guest submitted images from your photo slideshow and display hand-picked traveler images only.  Our content team verifies all photos before posting them online so you can be confident that any inappropriate images will be deleted before your new review is added to FlipKey.

A thumbnail image of the photo will be displayed below the guest review it is associated with on the FlipKey listing page.  Clicking on the thumbnail will enlarge the image to be viewed in full size.

FlipKey Quick Tip.pngQuick Tip! FlipKey automatically removes traveler submitted images from your property's slideshow if the traveler gave either a 1-star or 2-star review.

Depending on your photo preference, traveler submitted images will also display at the end of your property’s photo slideshow. If a traveler includes a caption, the caption will display underneath the photo.

FlipKey Quick Tip.pngQuick Tip! A FlipKey marking will identify all guest submitted images with a unique ‘FlipKey Traveler Photo’ stamp and is easily distinguishable from the owners/managers original photos.

All photos will continue to display on each guest review.

Photo tips

Tips for adding photos:

  • The photo limit is 5 MB. If your images are currently bigger, go to http://www.picresize.com to re-size them.
  • Photos must be in JPG, GIF, or PNG format. You can save photos in Microsoft Paint as a JPG file.
  • Use an Internet Explorer version 7 or 8, Google Chrome, or Firefox browser to upload photos.
  • If photos are taking a long time to load, simply click the ‘Refresh’ button on your browser.
  • The smaller the photo is, the faster it will upload.

Tips on the best photos to display:

  • To show a scenic view, include a railing or curtain in the picture to prove it is a view from your home.
  • Take pictures on a sunny day and let the natural light filter into your home.
  • Keep tables and surfaces clear to make the room look bigger.
  • Take pictures standing on a chair or at an elevated level to provide an image of the whole room.
  • Include captions on each photo to describe the room or the local area.
  • Add fresh flowers or light your fireplace to provide ambiance.
  • Display a photo of every room in your house aside form the bathroom.
  • Use an exterior photo for your main property image.
